JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Development & Communications Coordinator (DCC) is responsible for the duties involving communication, promotion, and administration of all development and communication activities for Cempa Community Care. The DCC oversees the messaging boards, brand, and public relations in our community. The DCC will also work closely with the Development & Events Coordinator to help plan and promote agency and fundraiser events. The DCC understands the community through constant listening and feedback loops, including regular surveying and active social media use. Monitors public relations to maintain and build relationships long-term. Manages segmentation/targeting strategy so content is reaching and making an impact on the right audiences. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Development (Includes, but not limited to):

This position will be responsible for the duties involving communication, promotion, and administration of all development activities of Cempa Community Care, which may sometimes include support for individual giving, corporate and foundation support, fundraising events, and grants.

Facilitate, with assistance from the Development Administrator, development and implementation of an annual development strategy to achieve promotional activities.

Marketing/Communications (Includes, but not limited to):

Responsible for updating and maintaining website, social media communication, and newsletters; design and produce brochures, advertisements, posters, and any other materials related to Cempa Community Care’s marketing and branding efforts.

● Develop and execute Cempa Community Care’s overall strategic Branding & Marketing fiscal year campaigns as well as implement campaigns aligning with the organization’s long-term strategic goals.
● Create, implement and monitor brand standards that directly impact the organization’s key messaging to stakeholders such as clients, donors and general awareness audiences.
● Oversee all social media platforms including, but not limited, to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Grindr, by creating original content, responding to correspondence, and informing the public on the latest news as it relates to health topics and the organization.
● Develop and maintain Cempa Community Care’s digital assets including platforms such as Buffer, Yelp, Google Business, Google Analytics and Guidestar.
● Manage advertising process for Cempa Community Care and other Cempa-produced programs, including: design of ads and ad spots, media buying for ad placement for print and digital media, develop and pitch media contracts for approval, monitor and make necessary updates to media contracts, and maintain contacts with each media representative.
● Manage website content as well as oversee and collaborate with external developers for necessary website updates.
● Compose and send weekly client and staff newsletters.
● Oversee design and dissemination of all development and communication materials related to each of Cempa Community Care’s department needs including: internal and external event digital and print collateral, preparing presentations, and creating brand standards for each department.
● Coordinate internal communications (Staff newsletters, documents, organizational signage, product ordering presentations, reports, abstracts and press), as well as external communications (social media, media buying, sponsorships, press releases and interviews).
● Responsible for increasing awareness of our organization and all our activities through effective, creative, and professional marketing and public relations including, but not limited to, press releases, media interviews, advertisements, sponsorships, and crisis management.
● Develop and maintain digital assets analytics reports to monitor and make appropriate adjustments to digital asset strategies based on analytics.

● Create monthly Development & Communications Board Report alongside the Development Administrator and the Events & Fundraising Coordinator.
● Alongside the Development Administrator and Cempa’s contractors, establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations and businesses to support our mission.
● Maintain photo, video, and print archive.
● Advocate for and represent the organization through digital presence as well as during networking events and non-profit functions.
● Assist other staff with general office staffing and office duties, such as receiving visitors, answering phone calls, event management, and more.

Qualifications:

● A Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, event management, and/or non-profit management is required.
● The Development & Communications Coordinator must be an exceptionally organized, detail-oriented self-starter who is personable and has outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
● Must have the ability to multi-task and adjust to seasonal or event-related fluctuations in workload.
● Proficiency with Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is preferred.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
● While training and management support will be provided, the Development & Communications Coordinator must possess the ability to work autonomously and with limited direction.
● Must have an ability and willingness to interact with the public.
● Must have the ability to lift event boxes, tables and chairs that can weigh up to 25-30 lbs.

● Valid driver’s license, clean DMV record, and current automobile liability insurance.

Compensation & Benefits:

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $47,000-$52,000 per year
