In response to the growing outbreak of novel coronavirus and COVID-19 respiratory disease, Cempa Community Care has modified our operating hours and limited access to the public in certain departments. We are committed to getting through this extraordinary time with as little disruption to our staff and patients as possible.
Cempa Community Care has developed interim procedures to help mitigate spread of infection. These procedures are designed to assure appropriate, effective response to this growing pandemic that could affect the safety of patients, staff and visitors, and adversely impact its ability to provide healthcare services to the community.
Clinic and Support Services will only be open for laboratory appointments, pre-scheduled in-person visits, and food market pick-ups on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm at 1000 E 3rd Street, Chattanooga TN, 37403. Our priority is to assist patients through telehealth or phone visits. If patients are unable to be assisted, they will be referred to a partner agency. Patients must be scheduled before arriving in person to our office. Staff will continue to be available to triage and assist patients by phone.
Preventative Services, including Syringe Trade and Education Program of TN (STEP-TN), will operate on a new schedule of Monday from 10am – 3pm EST and Friday from 9am – 1pm EST at 1042 E 3rd Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403. Free HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing will be provided on Mondays and Fridays during the designated hours. Patients will be referred to their current primary care provider when we are closed. Staff will continue to be available to and assist patients by phone.
Only patients and staff will be allowed inside the health center. Any visitors or guests accompanying a patient must wait in the car. Temperatures will be taken in a manner that is consistent with social distancing policies and anyone waiting in a line will be spaced six feet apart. Anyone with a measured temperature of 100.4 °F [38 °C] † or greater will be sent home to self-quarantine and if they are a patient, instructed to call our office for follow up or further triaging by phone.
