Cempa Community Care CEO A Featured Speaker At 2020 National Conferences

Shannon Stephenson, CEO of Cempa Community Care, has been selected as a featured speaker at multiple events in the first part of 2020.

“Ms. Stephenson, who has an extensive background in public health and safety, is a sought-after expert in the field of community medical outreach, including work with 340B covered entities,” officials said. “Her leadership at the helm of Cempa is also a key factor in making her a desired speaker. Since she joined the organization in 2015, Cempa has continually expanded its footprint and mission to provide essential services to the greater Chattanooga community.”

Ms. Stephenson’s first appearance of the year was at the 340B Coalition Winter Conference held Feb. 10–12 in San Diego. At this event, which featured more than 1,800 340B stakeholders, she shared her perspective and insight in two different sessions: “Ryan White Compliance Session (Covered Entities Only),” which focused on topics like audits and program costs, and “Contract Pharmacy Considerations and Practices,” which focused on legal and business considerations for contract pharmacy relationships.

Her upcoming event participation will include two separate events — the 5th Annual Covered Entities’ 340B Summit and SYNChronicity 2020.

At the Covered Entities’ 340B Summit in Philadelphia from April 30 to May 1, Ms. Stephenson will serve in dual roles: She has been named as chairperson for the summit, and she will also provide perspective in a session called “Preparing for 340B Audits and Maintaining Compliance.”

“The session will allow Ms. Stephenson to share unique insight garnered through years of helping Cempa successfully navigate 340B audits and remain in compliance with federal laws,” officials said.

Ms. Stephenson will also have a speaking role at SYNChronicity 2020. This conference brings together clinical professionals, service providers and government officials from the changing and dynamic health care landscape, with a focus on underserved racial and ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ communities. SYNChronicity 2020 will be held in Washington, D.C., from May 10 to 12.

“It is always a privilege to be able to share some of our successes and knowledge in this field with other organizations that have similar missions,” Ms. Stephenson says. “These two conferences will provide an important opportunity to share and learn from other leaders within the healthcare space.”
